Samsung Expands Collaboration with Sony Pictures for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Through New Cinematic Campaign
Samsung Electronics is advancing its strategic partnership with Sony Pictures through the release of a new cinematic campaign linked to ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ slated for exclusive theatrical release on July 31.
Campaign Direction and Concept
Under the direction of Emmy-nominated filmmaker and seasoned Marvel collaborator Kasra Farahani, the campaign features a narrative where Spider-Man combats crime while his smartphone endures the rigors of superhero activity. The Fabricator, within the narrative, introduces multiple devices tailored for Spider-Man, designed to handle the dynamic demands of superhero life. The campaign video includes excerpts that preview forthcoming innovations in the Samsung Galaxy series, demonstrated by Ned Leeds employing the Spidey Tracker to monitor Spider-Man’s movements. Enthusiasts are also encouraged to watch for hidden Easter eggs throughout the teaser.
Setting and Story Integration
Set within Peter Parker’s apartment, the new promotional spot seamlessly integrates Samsung’s product innovation with actual footage from ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day.’ This approach not only offers fans a sneak peek of the forthcoming film but also serves as a prelude to the broader narrative set to continue during the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22.
Brand Ambassador and Product Integration
Earlier in the summer, actor Jacob Batalon, portraying Ned Leeds, was instrumental in unveiling the Spidey Tracker—an interactive fan experience powered by Samsung Galaxy. Now, Batalon has officially joined #TeamGalaxy as a brand ambassador. “The Galaxy Z Fold is ideally suited for Ned and the development of the Spidey Tracker,” stated Batalon. “Utilizing the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Watch on set was an exceptional experience, and I am eager to join Team Galaxy beyond the film.”
