Apple has achieved a historic milestone with 89 Emmy Award nominations, leading as the network with the most nods in major drama and comedy categories. Among the top contenders are popular comedies like Widow’s Bay, Shrinking, and Margo’s Got Money Troubles, as well as acclaimed dramas such as Pluribus, Slow Horses, and Your Friends & Neighbors.
The breakout comedy Widow’s Bay has garnered 19 nominations, while the drama Pluribus follows closely with 18, after its highly praised first season. The award-winning non-fiction series Mr. Scorsese and The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy have also received top program nominations. In total, Apple has landed nominations across 15 different original series, with additional nods for titles including Foundation, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, The Morning Show, Murderbot, Palm Royale, and Smoke.
At the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, Widow’s Bay stands out as a leading program with its 19 nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series and several acting categories such as Outstanding Lead Actor for Matthew Rhys. Pluribus also secured a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series, along with writing and directing nominations for creator Vince Gilligan and acting nominations for Rhea Seehorn and other cast members.
Other notable nominations include Shrinking, which received 10 nominations, and Margo’s Got Money Troubles, making its Emmy debut with eight nominations. Meanwhile, Slow Horses has been nominated for Outstanding Drama Series for the third consecutive year, and Your Friends & Neighbors received its first-ever nomination in this category.
In the non-fiction category, Mr. Scorsese earned nominations for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series, among others. The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy was recognized with a nomination for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special.
Since its launch, Apple TV has become a significant player in the streaming landscape, with its original content earning 850 wins and 3,734 nominations across various awards. The Emmy winners will be announced at a ceremony on September 14.
